TWU to merge with Virgin pilots’ union

In an exciting new chapter for TWU and Virgin Independent Pilots’ Alliance (VIPA) pilots, the merger between the two unions is almost complete.

Pilots face similar attacks on pay and conditions to other aviation members, and that’s why our plan to combine forces is so exciting. We’ll use our collective strength to hold both Federal Government and companies to account on safety and standards right across the industry, along with our existing pilot members.

The merger will also mean the creation of a dedicated Pilots’ Division of the TWU.

We are now waiting on the Fair Work Commission to ratify the merger, with more updates to come very soon.
