In shocking news, Deliveroo has just announced that it will be shutting down its business in Australia, leaving 15,000 delivery riders and drivers with little notice or support.
While Deliveroo has said it will pay ‘some compensation’ to delivery workers – this will likely fail to compensate riders and drivers for thousands of dollars in unpaid wages and conditions the company has stolen in recent years.
The TWU will be working with union members to ensure delivery workers affected by the shutdown receive as much compensation and support as possible. We will be meeting the administrators of Deliveroo (KordaMentha) to get this process started and will advise next steps as soon as we can.
In the meantime, if you or any other workers you know have been affected by the Deliveroo shutdown – please complete the form on this page to be contacted with future updates and information
